Ethic principles of the journal

The ethic principles of the scientific and research Journal of Petroleum Geomechanics, based on international regulations in this regard, determine the duties of the editor-in-chief as follows:

Duties of the editor-in-chief:

  • The editor-in-chief should make all his/her attempts to promote the quantitative and qualitative level of the journal.
  • The editor-in-chief should investigate the contents of the submitted manuscripts from the aspect of having correlation with the aims and scopes of the journal, and should be committed to of the journal approved regulations.
  • The editor-in-chief should investigate the contents of the submitted manuscripts unbiased.
  • The editor-in-chief should not reveal any information from the submitted manuscripts to others except the correspondent author, the reviewers, the editors and the publisher.
  • The editor-in-chief will take final decisions on the publication of the submitted manuscripts.
  • The editor-in-chief cannot use unpublished materials in the submitted manuscripts without written permission of the authors.

 

Duties of the reviewers:

  • The reviewers should qualitatively investigate the scientific contents of the submitted manuscripts, and express the mistakes and problems in the manuscripts, and help the authors to improve and promote the qualitative level of the manuscripts.
  • The reviewers should not pass or discuss information in the submitted manuscripts to others except those who have been considered as authorized persons by the editor-in-chief.
  • The reviewers should judge on the submitted manuscripts quite reasonably, and express their views clearly without considering personal matters.
  • The reviewers should notify the editor-in-chief on any considerable similarity and or overlapping of the submitted manuscripts with any other manuscripts under investigation or published.
  • The reviewers should not personally use the information, contents and innovative ideas as a result of the attempts of the authors in the submitted manuscripts,
  • Any reviewer who feels to be ineligible to review a research work or manuscript for any reason such as not being in his/her field of expertise or lack of due time or lack of access to sufficient facilities, should notify the editor-in-chief, and withdraw from reviewing the manuscript.
  • The reviewers should review the submitted manuscripts in due time and according to the journal approved regulations.

 

Duties of the authors:

  • The submitted manuscripts should be in the technical fields of the journal, and have been prepared scientifically and comprehensively in accordance with the journal standards and format.
  • The submitted manuscripts should contain sufficient details and references. Incorrect information or/and expressions are in contradiction with the scientific ethics, and thus, are unacceptable.
  • The submitted manuscripts should contain the original work of the authors, and any use of researches carried out by other persons should be cited in the submitted manuscripts.
  • The authors should undertake the responsibility of the accuracy and precision of the contents of the submitted manuscripts. Publication of the submitted manuscripts does not mean the confirmation of the contents of the manuscripts.
  • The main author should make sure that the names of all the authors are given in the submitted manuscript, and all the authors have seen the final submitted manuscript, and confirm it, and agree with its publication.
  • The authors should notify the editor-in-chief any time they notice any mistake and/or any inaccuracy in the submitted manuscripts, and should make efforts to correct or withdraw the manuscripts.
