The energy consumed during good drilling depends on factors such as torque, drill speed, penetration rate, depth of cut. The mechanical energy for MSE is the concept used for the drilling operation efficiency, which refers to the amount of energy needed to separate a single volume of rock from the ground. In this thesis, by properly designing the path of electricity flow to the drilling unit and measuring it, the amount of energy consumed to drill a certain volume of rock is obtained. In this regard, the drilling machine is equipped with the equipment for measuring and distributing the size of drilling cuttings. the relationship between the specific energy and the size distribution of drill particles is investigated by drilling precast stone samples in the laboratory. The drill bits are collected in each test and their size and distribution are determined. Studies show that the size of the drill particles has an effective relationship with the specific energy, so that by decreasing the size of the particles, the drilling specific energy increases, which is due to the excess energy that is simply crushed and finely shredded. In this experiment, using the analysis of the results, the optimum size of the drilling cuttings where we have the least specific energy is determined and the main parameters of each test are considered, weight on bit, fluid flow and RPM.
